On January 12, 2024, the trial operation ceremony of the China United Cement Qingzhou 200,000 tons CO2 fully oxygen combustion carbon capture project, jointly constructed by China Triumph International Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China National Building Materials Bengbu Design and Research Institute for Glass Industry, and Shanghai Triumph Energy Conservation Engineering Co., Ltd.(STEC), was held in Qingzhou City, Shandong Province. This project is currently the largest carbon capture and utilization project in the building materials industry, the first set in Shandong Province, and the first carbon capture and utilization project in the cement sector of CNBM. It has been included in the first batch of China key scientific and technological research projects in the building materials industry.
This project is jointly developed by STEC and Tianjin Cement Institute. It is the first time that the world's most advanced technology and process equipment have been integrated and applied in the cement full oxygen combustion kiln in the building materials industry. Through pressure swing adsorption coupled adsorption distillation purification technology, purified CO2 is captured and produced into liquid CO2 with a purity of 99.99%. The production capacity can reach 200,000 tons per year, and the product quality meets the national food grade standard.
During the project construction period, the project team unified their thinking and firm confidence, practiced the concept of "use resources wisely and serving construction", resolutely implemented the requirements of the group company for project management, always kept in mind the work concept of "safety, investment, duration, quality", overcame adverse factors such as small construction sites, tight construction periods, heavy tasks, and extreme weather such as rain and snow, fought for time and progress, and made every effort to promote the construction process of the project, The originally planned 9-month construction period has been shortened by nearly 4 months, and the system has entered the trial production and operation phase ahead of schedule.
Later, the project team will make every effort to carry out full system load commissioning, continuously optimize various indicators during system operation, and strive to build the demonstration project into a benchmark project for global carbon capture technology with internationally leading technical indicators, helping the building materials industry build an integrated green industry chain of "building materials+" throughout its lifecycle, and contributing building materials strength to the country's achievement of the "carbon neutrality" strategic goal.
